I have a degree in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Developed at the University Évora a PhD on ‘The use of riparian areas by birds in the South of Portugal’. Recently I designed and coordenated RipiDurable an Interreg IIIC Project. My main interests are in the domain of the ecology of riparian areas, particularly in the composition and structure of bird communities and the relationships among them. I also have experience in populations of seabirds (on which I developed some scientific and conservation works).

I still have a particular interest in applied bird census techniques and riparian habitat restoration.
