The seminar Owls in Science, Culture and Conservation was held at the University of Évora on October 17. David Johnson (Director of The Global Owl Project) talked about the goals of the GLOW, including support for owl research and conservation projects around the world. Ricardo Tomé (President of SPEA) set up the current knowledge on owls in Portugal. The audience exceeded all expectations: almost 80 participants from north to south of mainland Portugal and Madeira filled the room and were able to ask interesting questions to lecturers. During the afternoon, experts met to discuss the future of conservation of owls in Portugal.
