The Ciência Viva’ 2008 Forum (Ciência Viva) offered a unique opportunity to general public to deal with scientific research done and spread out in our country, in association with Schools and scientific institutions. LabOr was represented at the event held in Lisbon at FIL (International Fair of Lisbon) on 22-23 November 2008 with the AviSkola Project .

The AviSkola Project is based on the use of birds as a reference model for actions supporting the experimental teaching of biological sciences, providing a bridge between the scientific community and scholar population. The project was spread using posters and other resources specially designed by the team, such as a field notebook, an important element for ornithologists of all ages. The emphasis was given to ‘The Digital Atlas of Breeding Birds of Herdade da Mitra’, a tool designed with the aim of exploring ornithological concepts and  educational features, and presented to the public for the first time in this event.
